How did they do it | First solo show
Thu 6 April 2017, 20:00 – 23:00 BST
Are you a young artist? Do you want to have a first solo show, searching for insights and tips? Look no further!
As part of its talk series - How did they do it? - ArtisTank is organising an evening of ideas, experiences and suggestions, all focused on how to set up your first solo show.
Whether you are planning to organise a show yourself, convince a gallery/museum or just willing to learn more about solo shows as it is a significant part of an emerging artist life, come and meet the artists who have been there and the organisations who help them make it happen.
We are very proud of our panel! We have the chance to welcome:
Michael Barnett, currently art features writer with STATE-F22 magazine (independent magazine to art galleries and art fairs, media partners to London Art Fair 17), he is also special project lead for Art Bermondsey Project Space
Jenny Judova, founder of Art Maps, she has very good relationships with London Based galleries. She is now working for Vatsari which connects artists with museums
Luke Norton, poet and artist, he very successfully set up is solo show at Oxo Tower. An inspiration for all emerging artists!
Our first event in the series "How did they do it" was a great success. We know that this new one will be another hit with these amazing people all here to share their experience and answer your questions in a fun informal event in our favourtie location: the By Other Means gallery!
We look forward to seeing you there!
During the evening, the gallery will also host the PV of Jon Delgado's show, currently artist resident at By Other Means. Jon Delgado is a London-based artist. He paints using inks discharged with bleach to create atmospheric paintings of the English countryside, particularly trees and woods.
