How do HR professionals cope with a Steve Jobs type CEO?
Complimentary Employment Seminar
30th January 2013
15-19 Dyke Road, Brighton
8.30am - 10.30am
HR professionals have to cope with many different types of strong leaders. They also have to advise according to employment law and culture. This is the difficult balance they have to strike each day. This seminar will explore how to successfully implement the best that executives can offer and provide strategies on how to prevent the worst from occurring.
Steve Jobs is known for his work at Apple and Pixar. He is held up as a guiding light for the development of new technology and design. There is no doubt that he was driven; but can such a force of nature always have a positive impact in the work place?
How easy is it to manage personnel when the boss regards employees as either the best or bozos? Is it really healthy when workers are regarded as not trying if they do not work 90 hours a week?
Steve Jobs said “the only way to do great work is to love what you do.” Is that possible when creative ideas are rejected out of hand one week and adopted the next? Should employees have to put up with rants and unrest from senior management?
Can we learn from the way that Apple was so singularly led or should we be cautious about business leaders that undermine their competitors?
