About this event

Family & Education • Parenting

Are you concerned about the amount of time your child spends online?

Are you having frequent arguments about getting off devices & social media?

Have you tried everything to manage this and nothing seems to work?

These are such common parenting questions these days.

The world of technology, social media and the internet is constantly developing bringing huge advances and plenty of new worries for parents.

So how can we manage this?

Well there is no magic wand, alas!

But, this online session will help you to understand:

  • The reasons why our young people are drawn to social media, gaming etc. and can't seem to let go.
  • Why using technology as a reward or punishment simply doesn't work
  • how we can help our children to develop their understanding of how to use technology appropriately and safely

This interactive and popular session is one of our Supporting Links Bitesize Parenting Workshops; this one hour event will take place via Zoom and will include a Q&A.

Previous attendees have said:

"This is such a big issue in our house and we spend so much time arguing about YouTube & TikTok! I am so glad I came. You have given me so much food for thought... Thank you!"

The workshop is open to all parents and carers of children in all years at Ipswich School.

It is never too early or too late to think about how we navigate the use of technology in our families.

A subsidy is available for those families in receipt of Universal Credit.
