Event description

Description

The podium discussion aims to foster the debate with the public about the contribution of international law to current problems of democracy. The discussion would be opened by a short presentation of the results of an academic workshop about the challenges that democratic societies face nowadays, explaining what ‘illiberalism’, ‘populism’ or ‘Brexit’ mean and what international law can say about them. After this brief introduction, a keynote speech would be held by Brad Roth, a high-ranking expert on contemporary challenges to democracy, followed by a public discussion with the audience.
