6 pm refreshments and networking, with the event starting promptly at 6.30 pm and finishing around 8.30 pm

This keynote presentation follows on from sessions delivered earlier in the year by the Andover and Salisbury Group on the identification of HR risk; risk capture, and how important this is to the way a business, project or change programme is managed.  Andover and Salisbury Group are delighted to welcome to Salisbury Guildhall Stephen Carver, an internationally-renowed speaker who is rated as one of the top three Lecturers at one of Europe's top MBA Business Schools.

Through his unique and inspiring form of delivery, Stephen will explore the importance of understanding the culture of an organisation and the drivers of human behaviour when assessing and decision-making about the approach to risk.  Stephen will also offer advice about what to do when an organisation gets this wrong!

As the HR profession moves forward towards uncertain times as a result of Brexit, you will take away from this session an appreciation of the role played by an organisation's culture and human behaviour when assessing risk to business; insight into how the management of any organisation and its decision-makers are affected by behaviour and culture within an organisation, and a greater understanding of what is essential subject matter for HR professionals.

We anticipate that this session will prove popular with members, so early booking is advised in order to avoid disappointment.

This event is not to be missed.  It is the session that you need to persuade your boss - and your boss’s boss - to attend.

Our speaker

Stephen Carver, Senior Lecturer in the School of Management at Cranfield Univeristy.

Stephen has a reputation for being able to take complex management concepts such as Project, Programme and Crisis Management and distil them down into highly informative and fun lectures - often using “storytelling” techniques. His attitude is “if you haven’t done it – you shouldn’t be teaching it!”

Stephen started out as an Engineer in the offshore oil business and worked his way up the corporate ladder, ending up reporting directly into the CEO at Halliburton. As well as being an academic with an atypical background, Stephen still runs his own Project Management company.  Stephen is an unusual blend of Academic, Businessman and Teller of Tales. He has taught in almost every country in the World and appeared on National Radio and TV.
