How Early Bonds Shape the Body: Object Relations in Practice
Overview
Drawing on the work of Winnicott, Klein and Britton's, Missing Link Theory Kate will make simple some of the complex ideas in psychodynamic theory. You will learn how an infants experience in those key relationships not only shape their sense of self but how relational patterns take hold within the body and within the mind.
The work of Winnicott and Britton, Missing Link Theory, provides such a user-friendly way of understanding how relational patterns become internal working models and how they inform our capacity to mentalise (e.g. see things from another’s point of view) with Kleins theories shining a light on how primitive protector parts can be held as rigid patterns within fascia and at cellular level. Kate is known for her creative, visual style which particularly comes into its own in this workshop.
Have colours and play-doh to hand for this creative and somatic romp through the world of object relations.
