How Ethical are Student Loans?
Wed 19 October 2016, 18:00 – 20:30 BST
As tuition fees rise again to £9,250 under Theresa May, the average UK student’s debt shows little sign of reducing and reports of attainment gaps continue to dominate headlines. Yet, if student loans were eradicated, how might society be hit? What is the solution to delivering a fair education system?
The Islamic Finance & Ethics Society is proud to launch this academic year, with an exclusive insight into the 2017 governmental release of interest free loans. IFES will be joined by one of its most prolific panels to date, who will be debating the impact of student loans on issues ranging from social mobility to debt and deficit.
