Description

The Centre for Energy Policy are delighted to announce their second Town and Gown lecture, “How Not to Run an Energy Policy: The Lessons from Three Decades”

With the help of personal experience, former UK Energy Minister Brian Wilson will review the major policy milestones which have left the UK short of power and turned Scotland from exporter into importer. What are the lessons, where are we heading - and can politicians be trusted with energy policy? Brian’s talk will provide a timely introduction to forthcoming activity being organised by the Centre for Energy Policy to encourage stakeholder debate on the new Scottish Energy Strategy.

Professor Karen Turner will chair the event, and Professor Sir Jim McDonald, Principal of the University of Strathclyde, will introduce Brian Wilson. The lecture will be followed by a wine reception.
