Join the session and improve your organisation for functional movement when upright!
Our pelvis connects our legs and spine – it is an organic crossroad for transfer of forces between the spine and legs. Joints of our legs and the spine work together as a coordinated collaborative system of springs, that can support our weight efficiently, while allowing us to move freely, and comfortably. This is what gives us both a fluidity and stability in movement.
When we are not organised to use our joints effectively, excessive muscular effort, strain, increased wear and tear, pain, and instability can occur.
The lessons will address fundamental human functions, including: the transfer of weight through the skeleton, transfer of force through the spine, the effective mobilisation of the anti-gravity function, the connection between the head, pelvis, and legs.
Join the session and experience a sophisticated combination of movement and attention to improve your posture and balance, sit and move with more comfort and ease, free your breathing, and feel better.
Closely related to the September, November, and December workshop, all working together towards improving your overall organisation when upright. Whilst each workshop can be experienced independently, in order to maximise the benefits, I recommend attending as many as you can.
Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons consist of a series of gentle, ingenious movements, verbally directed and exploratory in nature. There are hundreds of lessons which focus on different themes and interconnections between the nervous system, the muscles, the skeletal system, and our responses to the world around us.
Each month we focus on a different theme keeping us engaged in building a clearer image of ourselves, by paying attention to our sensations as we move. Broadly beneficial and appropriate for people of all ages, interests and abilities.

Wear comfortable layered clothing. Please bring your own floor mat to lie on if you can (some mats will be provided if you do not bring yours).
