How students use iPads: What you can do to enhance your teaching
The iPad project has seen a huge shift in how students learn. They have access to a huge amount of information at their fingertips. The first part of this session will deal with what students use their iPads for. It is critical for any teacher to understand what the possibilities are if they are to make the most out of these teaching opportunities. We will demonstrate how iPads are used for productivity, note-taking, to consume content, to access reference materials and much more.
The second part of the session will involve showing how you can use iPads to enhance your teaching. This does not require you to have an iPad but will hopefully provide inspiration for those wishing to take their teaching to the next level of interaction with students. We will have case studies of how iPads are being used in teaching and we would not be surprised to learn a few things from those attending.
We would encourage all those involved in Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching to attend as mobile learning is becoming the norm rather than the exception. We would also encourage attendees to watch the student videos on how they make the most of their iPads beforehand.
