About this event

The Competition & Markets Authority (CMA) is an independent non-ministerial UK government department and the UK’s primary consumer and competition authority. The CMA’s Devolved Nations team will provide a brief introduction to the CMA and its functions and draw on experience from recent projects to show how the CMA delivers for consumers across the nations.

The CMA has been through a period of change over the past few years: expanding and growing our presence in the nations, preparing for additional powers and responsibilities following EU exit and working more flexibly across locations and teams as part of our Covid-19 taskforce. The steer from the CMA Board and senior management team has been for us to embed nations and regions thinking across the organisation and ensure that all staff have a responsibility for delivering. The session will cover how the Devolved Nations team have worked to ensure that the CMA is 'devolution aware across its functions and teams’ and approaches its work from a truly UK perspective.
