How The Romans Lived

Beneath your feet at Caistor Roman Town lies the old town of Venta Icenorum, The major Roman Town in East Anglia.

Our Guided tours will bring to life how the archaeology has been discovered, and stories of what life would have been like for the Romans and Celts who lived in this place after Boudica’s Revolt.

Rich in history this site is also a beautiful place for flora and fauna to thrive.

This is a Heritage Monument Site, please wear suitable footwear for this walking guided tour.

Frequently asked questions

Is The site wheelchair Accessible?

Caistor Roman Town is a heritage monument site and therefore we are unable to provide level pathways. The terrain is on a gradient and has uneven grass surfaces and kissing gate access at many points.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are allowed on site but must be on a lead at all times. During guided tours please keep your dog on a short lead for the comfort of other visitors.

How much are parking fees?

A 90 minute stay costs £2.00, or 3 hours is £3.00. You can pay by card but the machine does not take cash.
