Description
"If you want a world that is beautiful, kind and fair, shouldn't our activism be beautiful, kind and fair?"
In these times of social, political and economic uncertainty, a new handbook is offering citizens the opportunity to take part in a quiet but powerful form of activism that provokes collaboration and conversation in place of division and conflict.
How to be a Craftivist: The Art of Gentle Protest has been designed to help people use craftivism (craft + activism) to thread love, humility and beauty through their activism instead of hate, ugliness or aggression. Craftivism is for everyone from skilled crafters to burnt out activists, and those people who want to challenge injustice in the world but don’t know what to do, where to start or how to prioritise their energies and time. Written by Sarah Corbett, award-winning campaigner and founder of the Craftivist Collective. Sarah will be in conversation with Jamie 'Mr X Stitch' Chalmers about her work and how it can relevant and helpful for you to keep being the change you wish to see in the world in a happy and healthy way.
There will be the opportunity to meet both authors after the event and have books signed.
