About this event

Starting out as a primary maths subject leader can feel daunting, but it doesn’t have to. In this practical and down-to-earth session, Jon Cripwell (National Education Lead for Primary Maths at Twinkl and former Assistant Headteacher and Maths Lead) will share what he wishes he’d known when he first took on the role.

Aimed at new or recently appointed subject leaders in EYFS, Key Stage 1 or 2, this session will unpack the key responsibilities of the role, highlight where to focus your attention in your first term, and explore simple systems to help you lead with clarity and impact.

You’ll leave with a set of actionable strategies – from planning subject time and gathering evidence, to building staff confidence and engaging with your wider maths community.

Whether you’re feeling excited, unsure, or somewhere in between, this supportive session will help you start your maths leadership journey with confidence and purpose.
