Description

***It is necessary to register if you wish to attend due to workshop capacity*** If the event is full, there will be a limited number of waiting list places available. Once these have been taken and the event is sold out, we recommend you look at future workshop dates.

This workshop is for STs, consultants and GPs who wish to become OSCE examiners. In the workshop we will explore the process and methods for examining undergraduate medical students. If you attend this workshop it will be assumed that you are prepared to be an examiner.

Please note: Foundation Drs are ineligible to apply for these workshops as they are not used as OSCE examiners in Manchester.

By the end of the workshop you should be able to:

  • Understand the role of OSCE assessments in the Manchester MBChB Curriculum
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities expected of OSCE examiners
  • Describe the biases that affect assessor judgements
  • Assess OSCE candidates and provide feedback using iPad marking
  • Appropriately manage challenges that may arise when examining
  • Take on the role of an OSCE examiner

This workshop is part of a series of PRIME staff development workshops run by the University of Manchester - School of Medical Sciences. For further details and related workshops please see the PRIME website, and click here for directions to our workshop locations.
