The ILP are delighted to announce Martha Godfrey and Jono Kenyon from Beam Lighting Design as speakers for a HTBB Halloween week special, which will be held from 6pm on the 28 October 2025, at the Lutron Experience Centre in London.

Drawn from Tim Burton’s personal archive and representing his creative output from childhood to present day, designers Jono Kenyon and Martha Godfrey were tasked with illuminating drawings, paintings, photographs, sketchbooks, moving-image works, sculptural installations and costumes, as part of the recent ‘The World Of Tim Burton’ exhibition at the Design Museum in London. When the exhibition opened to the public in October 2024, it had already broken the Museum’s record for the most pre-sales of any Design Museum exhibition, selling over 32,000 tickets. The designers tell us “we are both really looking forward to sharing some of our ideas and processes with the HTBB audience. We love being part of the storytelling that comes with exhibition lighting design and working with really inspirational curators and collectors.”

Martha Godfrey came to Beam Lighting with a portfolio of beautiful, impactful designs from several years working in live arts. Pivoting towards architectural lighting design after achieving a Distinction in their MSc in Light and Lighting from the Bartlett in 2022, Martha brings to the studio extensive technical knowledge, designing bespoke systems ranging from sound-reactive projection mapping, to live cameras.

Founder of Beam Lighting Design Jono Kenyon studied Theatre Design at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, after graduating, he worked on productions for the Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre, The Royal Opera House, live music events for Placebo, Faithless, Maroon 5 and Estelle, as well working on the first 5 years of Secret Cinema, bringing iconic films to life by creating immersive experiences for audiences. Since founding Beam Lighting Design Ltd in 2016, his studio has become one of the UK’s leading specialist design consultancies, counting venues such as Somerset House, the Design Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum as clients.
