The ILP popular How To Be Brilliant lecture series returns for Autumn!
Join the #ILPBrilliant team and Director Marci Song from SEAM Design at the Lutron Experience Centre in London, from 6pm on the 23 September 2025, as she talks through the concept of legacy and her hopes as a designer of creating a lasting, positive impact in her lifetime on the lit environment with her work.
With increasing geopolitical and industry uncertainty Marci Song says she has found herself thinking more existentially about design “ its purpose, its impact and its permanence.” She tells the ILP she’d like to focus her talk “on the theme of legacy: in lighting design, in our profession and in what we ultimately leave behind.” Going on to add that “light is one of the most powerful tools we have to shape experience and meaning. Like architecture, it tells stories - but with light, those stories live in feeling and memory. I’m looking forward to sharing reflections on legacy, design and the lasting imprint of light at How to Be Brilliant this September, and I hope it sparks something for the next generation of designers.”
