About this event

In this session, we explore what makes a good employer and what can lead to poor employer practices. We'll look at real-life scenarios and openly share our own experiences of being individual employers. The session provides a space to reflect on what works well and what challenges may arise when employing someone directly. Together, we will also discuss the legal responsibilities and obligations that come with being an employer—such as contracts, health and safety, and fair treatment. This is a chance to learn from each other, ask questions, and gain greater confidence in your role as an employer. Whether you're new to employing or have years of experience, the session is designed to help you think about good practice, avoid common pitfalls, and better understand your rights and responsibilities. A supportive, interactive discussion for all individual employers.
