Event description

Description

Social care in the West Country is going through a period of extreme change. Many of the large services are being closed and there is a real movement towards services, that are small, flexible and highly personalised . This can actually be a huge opportunity for small companies, collectives or individual self-employed care workers (micro providers)

The challenge is to ensure a high quality, motivated workforce who can provide the

flexibility to work with people to help them achieve outcomes that would have seemed impossible within traditional services. This training will give you the perfect starter kit to help you help people with learning disabilities get a real life and build a sustainable micro provider business

This training day aims to provide an opportunity for micro providers to receive practical information on how to become a micro provider and connect with the local social care and referral network. There will be a mix of information giving and a workshop approach so you can start to put your ideas and learning into practice.

You will hear from Alex Roland a successful local micro provider. You will receive top tips on how direct payments work, how to market your service and practical steps develop a sustainable business which can deliver the best outcomes for the people you work with. .
