Naveen Akhund has been working in Human Resources, Diversity, Equality & Inclusion for the last 8 years. in this webinar Naveen will be covering two distinct areas that attendees will learn a lot from:
Inclusive Hiring Practices:
- How to reduce the impact of unconscious bias (panel interviews, removing personal data from CVs during the initial screening stage)
- Helping to change mindsets around hiring from under represented groups. i.e. you are NOT lowering your standards, you are casting a wider net and improving your chances of finding promising talent
How to Retain Talent:
- Talented employees must be given the opportunity to develop their skills and advance within the organisation (aim to promote from within)
- Creating mentorship programmes and providing visibility in front of board members
About your speaker
Naveen is the Co-Founder of Hirestance, an applicant tracking system that anonymises personal data (name, address, gender etc) during the CV screening process with the aim of minimising unconscious bias during the shortlisting stage.
Naveen works with start ups and SMEs on creating and managing the "ideal workplace". This includes creating and implementing policies and programmes such as:
- Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging
- Management Training
- Capability Building within Teams
- Mentorship Programmes
