Do not book a Researchers from East Anglia ticket if this does not apply when the Researchers from other regions (UK) tickets are full, email Georgina on georgina.norris3@nhs.net to be added to the waiting list.
Sessions are free for students and staff from the NIHR, NHS, UK universities, public sector institutions and registered charities based in the UK. Please USE a work-associated work email to register (e.g. .nhs.uk, .ac.uk etc.). This session is not suitable for researchers from the private sector. Please contact the organiser if you have any further questions.
Please note if you do not attend, without cancelling or notifying the team in advance. We will cancel any further tickets booked. We are seeing between 30-40% drop out rate and have large waiting lists- please allow another researcher an opportunity to attend.
The session will particularly suit people who have attended the Introductory course on Patient and Public Involvement for Researchers and are now considering building a PPI group to support their research.
The training will cover identifying suitable group members, finding, recruiting and retaining them, ways of working, providing your group with appropriate training and how to maintain involvement over the research cycle.
We will cover:
- Welcome and introductions (breakout groups)
- How to Build and work with PPI Groups
- Break (short comfort)
- Case study
- PPI member's experience of being involved in a group
- Group discussion and Q&A's
Please note we work on PPI with adults; what's discussed can relate to all audiences; however, we do not specifically cover PPI with children or young people.
