Want to learn some handy repair skills? Join us for our How to Change a Plug Like a Pro Fixperience Workshop, coming to Camden’s Fixing Factory on 8th June 2025! This workshop is a fun, hands-on way to jump into DIY repairs, cut down on waste, and keep a little extra cash in your pocket.
The workshop is designed for those with little to no prior experience, so don’t worry if you’re new to this.
Each session is small and friendly, with up to six people per workshop. So whether you come solo or with friends, you’re in for a relaxed, supportive environment. With one to two facilitators for each group, you’ll get plenty of one-on-one guidance as you learn the ropes.
How to Change a Plug Like a Pro
Many people have never changed a plug, but it can save you valuable time and money. By the end of the session you will have learnt the basics of safety when working with electrical items, understood how plugs work, disassembled and reassembled a traditional plug, and learnt about common mistakes to avoid.

Affordable repair skills workshops for the fixcurious. An opportunity for those with no prior experience to learn basic repair skills that they can put into practice in their everyday lives - helping them to save money, time and carbon.
Up to six people can join a workshop. You can attend with a friend (or group of friends) or alone - it will be a friendly and relaxed environment. Our ratio of six participants to 1-2 workshop facilitators ensures each participant will get plenty of 1:1 attention and be able to try activities.
No one under the age of 18 is allowed to join a Fixperience Workshop.
No prior training or complex registration is needed - just turn up on the day. All workshops will include a Health and Safety briefing at the start.
No - all equipment will be provided on the day. Wear clothes suitable for hands-on activities, that you don’t mind getting a bit messy. Don’t wear open shoes, and tie up long hair. We’ll send an email confirmation before the workshops with final details of what to bring.
The workshops are designed for the general public, so don’t require any special level of fitness. You’ll need to be able to handle and see items on a table in front of you. If you have accessibility requirements, let us know before booking and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
