How to compost - This course is to train you, to train others, on the vital skill of "How To Compost"
About this event
This course is for those training others using the Grow to Give Composting booklet.
What to expect - By the end of the 1 hour workshop you should expect to:
- understand the key requirements for making compost and be prepared to give it a go.
- be aware of factors to consider when choosing a bin and to decide what is suitable for you
- be aware of the different types of bins available to make, buy or maybe obtain second hand / free.
- understand the importance of getting a variety of material into the compost (greens and browns)
- understand how to use home-made compost to improve your soil
- be confident to explain the main points to a small group of fellow allotmenteers
- have improved your own understanding of compost making
The course will be taught face to face at one of local Grow to Give allotment sites, Knotty Green. Th ecourse will be run by Richard Andrews, Project Manager, Grow to Give & Director at Grow Together
In addition to the training, we will give you some handout and trainer materials for your own sessions.
