Description

According to a report by the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) for EE, the pop-up sector is worth £2.3bn to the UK economy. Many artists, community groups, new business start-ups, galleries, and arts and culture providers are now using these empty shops to house their products and ideas to help boost awareness and sales.

Now you too can get the information and ideas you need to succeed in creating and delivering your own pop-up in this informative workshop. From planning to legal, from marketing to funding, you’ll get the chance to go through our pop-up toolkit in a workshop environment and share ideas and questions throughout the day.

WHAT YOU WILL GO AWAY WITH

You will go away with a clearer understanding of what is required to succeed at running your own pop-up plus a firm plan on what steps you need to take to make it work for you or your organisation. You’ll also learn some tips and tricks and get the opportunity to network with like-minded individuals.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This workshop is ideal for creative individuals, small businesses, start-ups, community groups, and organisations that are based in Dorset and wish to expand their reach and anyone who has the desire to have a commercial approach to their activities.

ABOUT YOUR TUTOR

Andrew Knutt has over 18 years’ experience as a creative industries business professional with an array of knowledge and know how on achieving results. As a qualified business advisor Andrew has successfully started and sold three businesses over the past 20 years, is founding director of arts and culture organisation Creative Innovation Centre, an Associate of The Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), member of The Association for Cultural Enterprises, chairman of Somerset Innovation + Design, board member of South West Design, and well known for his informal and optimistic approach to delivering business focused workshops and events.

WHAT TO BRING

You may wish to bring a laptop or iPad to do some online research but not essential. Pen and paper is advised.

There is no fee for attendees but spaces are limited.

If you are based outside Dorset please call us before booking your place as only Dorset residents qualify for a place.
