About this event
About This Book:
A New Introduction to Counselling and Psychotherapy is a groundbreaking, comprehensive, and practical textbook offers a mainstream introduction to self-development, theory, skills, practice, and advocacy in counselling and psychotherapy.
Event Details:
Join Mamood Ahmad, alongside several contributing authors and guests, for an engaging panel discussion that will feature a brief overview of the book’s rationale and proposed solution, with a central focus on daily practice and why this is important for advancing the profession, client advocacy, and contributing to a better world.
The conversation will highlight concrete examples of how gaps in mainstream knowledge, ways of thinking about relationships, and practice can be addressed through a whole practice relational framework and its blueprint for curriculum change. It will also explore how a shift in mindset, one that embeds context through a strong educational foundation, can support client advocacy by design as well as expand the landscape of knowledge. This shift moves beyond merely tolerating or embracing various communities, toward actively enriching the collective knowledge base and the nature of relationships for all.
