Oh hey there, fear of failing, it's you again! For so many business owners, nothing feels more terrifying than failure. Throw rejection sensitivity and wobbly self-esteem into the mix, and that fear can stop you in your tracks before you even start.
Here's the thing, though: failure is essential for making progress. And the more you fail, the less scary it becomes.
You realise messing up doesn't mean people are going to laugh at you or judge you. It means you're human, trying out exciting stuff, and all the while you're learning and growing.
Because in business, if your fear of failing stops you from trying things before you have it all figured out, then how are you ever going to figure those things out?
Being unstoppable isn't about being fearless – it's about feeling the fear and doing it anyway.
Being your own boss, starting a business and putting yourself out there is a constant journey consisting of many leaps of faith.
Sometimes you'll land on your feet and shout “HURRAH!”
Sometimes you'll pick yourself up from a clumsy crash-landing, dust yourself off and tend to your bruises before you start over.
In this Power Hour, my goal isn’t only to make failing feel less scary, but to get you EXCITED about getting out there and failing.
We'll explore:
- Why we're all so blimmin' scared of failing
- What makes us feel like we've failed
- How we let fear of other people’s judgement keep us stuck
- How to be OK with messing up
- How to feel the fear and do it anyway! Woohoo!
- What failure has to teach us and how we can welcome it
You’ll leave the session:
- Feeling ready to embrace failing despite the fear
- With a helpful exercise to positively re-frame any failure
- With a totally audacious 'How To Fail' challenge… if you choose to accept it
