Event description

Description

Speaker: David Lilley

If you are in business, you can enjoy transformational benefits by learning and mastering the art of modern marketing. However, effective marketing is not just about promoting your services and tempting new customers. Nowadays, you have a legal responsibility to conduct compliant marketing and this includes safeguarding the private consumer data that you capture and utilise as you go about your day to day business.

In the UK, data protection has always been stringent and in May 2018, the new General Data Protection Legislation (GDPR) comes into force.

GDPR is more detailed and stricter than the current data protection legislation, which is known as the Data Protection Act (DPA).

David Lilley, who is Managing Director of The Unique Network, has spent his entire career working at a senior level in sales, marketing and business development.

A 360 Degree Marketer, David has enjoyed an award winning career, including director roles at companies such as American Express and RCI. He has also worked as a Senior Consultant for major brands like Barclaycard, British Gas, MacDonald Hotels & Resorts and Hiscox Insurance, to name just a few.

David will walk you through the key aspects of data protection legislation, whilst sharing some of the guidance, tools and techniques to ensure you can protect your business from the financial and reputational damage that might be suffered if you accidentally breached the new GDPR.

In summary, you will leave this workshop with a clear roadmap for planning and executing compliant marketing.
