About this Event

Short Description:

One look at directory listings shows how many counsellors there are competing for work. This workshop will give you the tools to build your own successful counselling practice and stand out.

This insightful workshop will be experientially based, and learning will be a blend of trainer led presentations, group work and plenary work.

We will examine the components of successful psychotherapy & counselling private practices and what makes them successful. The workshop will help you understand the steps you need to take to develop your own successful private practice.

Aims and Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the workshop you will be able to:

- Describe what the term ‘successful private practice’ means to you

- Describe your own objectives for your private practice

- Identify how you will measure your objectives for private practice

- Describe your own unique selling point

- Identify the component parts to your professional image

- Identify your own digital marketing goals

- Understand the importance of internet search engine optimisation (SEO)

- State your ethical and professional position as regards Social Media

About the Tutor:

John Paradise is a Certified Transactional Analyst with a psychotherapy speciality. John is a also a qualified clinical hypnotherapist, NLP Practitioner and has experience teaching in the post compulsory sector.

John has a successful private psychotherapy and supervision practice in Exeter. He has a professional interest in Men’s work and is the founder of Psychotherapy & Counselling (PAC) Exeter, a professional community of psychotherapists and counsellors working in Exeter.

John has designed and delivered CPD workshops for Relate Dorset, Canterbury Christchurch University, Chard Watch as well as CPD events for counsellors in Devon. John works voluntarily for Families Need Fathers.

Target Audience

Our CPD workshops are open to anyone who is interested in the subject matter, wants to develop their skills and expand their knowledge. This workshop is particularly aimed at counsellors considering starting private practice or those wishing to grow their practice.

COVID-19 College Regulations:

- Do not enter if you have displayed any symptoms of COVID-19 within the last 14 days or potentially been in contact with anyone who has had or displayed symptoms within the last 14 days.

- Please adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times ensuring to keep 2 meters distance at least.

- Do not share stationary or tools these should be kept for individual use.

- All paperwork to be signed and sent electronically only.

- Use hand wipes, gels or other sanitisers provided.

- Ensure any equipment you are bringing on site has been cleaned and disinfected prior to coming onto site.

- Please wash your hands on a regular basis.

- Please cough, sneeze or blow your nose into tissues and dispose of these immediately, if none are available please cough or sneeze into your elbow and wash immediately.

- Use any PPE required as per the sites rules.

- We will be sending all attendees a COVID-19 Pre-Visit Declaration Form prior to the event.

This is an 'in person' workshop, based at Iron Mill's venue in Exeter. The running of this workshop as an 'in person' workshop is dependent on the Covid-19 restrictions and social distancing measures in place at the time of the workshop date. If Covid-19 restrictions are such that the workshop cannot go ahead in person, it will either be postponed or moved online. If this happens, all delegates will be contacted and offered the choice to re-book or receive a refund. We will review arrangements 2 weeks' before the event and inform you of any changes.
