Event description
An online talk about how to feel more in control of your eating.

About this Event

~ Do you feel out of control of your eating?

~ Do you regularly overeat?

~ Do you find it hard to maintain healthy eating habits long-term?

~ Are you trapped in a cycle of yo-yo dieting?

~ Are you a secret eater?

~ Do you feel that food is in control of you, rather than you being in control of food?

Our relationship with food can be quite complex, and requires some attention if we want to end the fight with food, stop swinging between restrictive eating and overeating and achieve a more balanced, sustainable way of eating. My talk ‘How To Feel More In Charge Of Your Eating’ will help you to think about your own behaviours and thought processes when it comes to eating.

It's beneficial for anyone wanting to develop a healthier relationship with food, to feel more in charge of their eating and to set up and maintain long-term healthy eating habits. The talk explores unhelpful beliefs, thought patterns and attitudes about food, eating and dieting, and explores some of the concepts of mindful eating.

Topics include:-

~ The benefits of not labelling foods as 'good' or 'bad'

~ How dieting can have a negative influence on our relationship with food

~ How to shift out of the black & white mindset (being either ‘good' or 'bad' with food)

~ How to start trusting ourselves around food

~ The benefits of giving ourselves permission to eat the foods we love

~ The best food choices to help stabilise appetite

~ ‘Autopilot': its link with overeating and what to do about it

~ Common 'crooked' thinking and beliefs that can make us overeat or make poor food choices

~ The two brains: the importance of using both parts when it comes to food decisions and eating

~ Identifying and addressing overeating triggers

~ Links between childhood, a person’s self-concept and their relationship with food

~ The interrelationship between eating habits, lifestyle management and personality

~ The importance of tackling emotional eating if we want to be more in charge of food.

This talk will provide you with some great tips to start helping you feel liberated from the fight with food, and is a great introduction if you want to improve your current eating habits and become more skilled at considering what to eat, how much to eat, whether to eat and the eating process itself in any given situation.

This talk is also a great introduction to my short online course ‘Improve Your Relationship With Food’, which is for anyone wanting to explore and understand their own problematic eating habits and find strategies to help them feel more in charge of food, tackle overeating, put an end to yo-yo dieting and gain tools to achieve more healthy, balanced eating habits.

For more in-depth information about the specific topic of emotional eating, please see my other talk 'Understanding Emotional Eating'.

Special offer: 25% off! £15 instead of £20. Includes detailed handout.
