How to fight against, and with, the law in Wales with Hussein Said.
Overview
Hussein Said is a human rights lawyer and activist. Speaking weekly at protests, his political participation in Cardiff cannot be understated. At this talk he’ll present us with challenging thoughts on how the law operates in Wales, its deficiencies and what we can do about it. It will be a stirring talk that will close the current show at BayArt, ExtraLegal.
He attained First Class Honours in his law degree from Cardiff University and a Distinction in his LPC from the University of Law (Bristol). He runs the Cardiff LGBTQ+ Law clinic and works at Asylum Justice a local organisation that provides legal advice and representation to Asylum Seekers in South Wales.
Hussein is a member of the Trans Equality Legal Initiative (TELI), the first trans legal initiative in the UK, which is a coalition of human rights lawyers, trans activists and diversity professionals working to promote trans rights through the law. He is also Chair of Cardiff Stand Up To Racism.
