Event description

Description

Following hugely successful campaign training events in London, Bristol and Bridgend (so far!), we're taking our show on the road to almost a dozen destinations before the end of the year. Please join our experienced Field Campaigns Director who has worked on elections both in the UK and the USA and our growing field campaigns team for an interesting, fast-paced and exciting evening. Event details now confirmed, see above.

We will be sharing our national vision with you, training you in local campaigning, connecting you with other campaigners in your area and giving you all the tools needed to fight Brexit on a local level.

These events are about practical steps you can take to make a difference. They are hands-on, interactive sessions driven by two key principles:

1. We must get out of the echo chamber and persuasively talk about a No Brexit option to expand our supporter base.

2. Our efforts have to go from mass rallies to direct action, to build the base and apply constant pressure on MPs to sustain change.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!

- CONTEXT -

The June 2017 general election was a game changer for Brexit. Theresa May broke her word and called an election. Her gamble didn’t pay off. This government has no mandate to railroad the country into a bad deal – it’s time for No Brexit to enter the discussion as a real option for this country.

Both the Labour and Conservative party have pledged to deliver the country the ‘exact same benefits’ from any Brexit that we enjoy under our current EU membership terms. A deal as good as membership looks increasingly unlikely by the day. All options must remain on the table, including No Brexit.

Many of our supporters can’t see any prospect for a ‘good Brexit’. We agree. But what’s most important is public opinion across the country – and more people are beginning to doubt whether a ‘good Brexit’ is feasible. With your help we want to bring in those people that are doubting Brexit, maybe for the first time, and work together to give our country real options, including the chance to press ‘eject’ from Brexit.

To do this we have to resist, organise and act. We must move past the binary ‘Leave’ and ‘Remain’ camps. We will actively seek out people who voted leave, people who didn’t vote and people who are having doubts about Brexit. We will have respectful conversations and aim to understand people’s concerns and bring those together who are questioning whether Brexit is worth the risk. Everyone is welcome, because everyone has a stake in our future.
