- Practical session – after explaining how to write a pitch everyone will have a go at writing their own and selected attendees will volunteer to read aloud their elevator pitch, with opportunity for feedback on the evening

Juliet Mushens is a literary agent whose authors range from international bestsellers such as Jessie Burton (The Miniaturist and The Muse), Stacey Halls (The Familiars and The Foundling) and Taran Matharu (the Summoner trilogy) to record-breaking million-copy bestselling novelist Richard Osman. Juliet runs her own literary agency, Mushens Entertainment. She has been shortlisted for literary agent of the year four times, and is the number one ranked UK dealmaker on Publisher’s Marketplace. Her book Get Started in Writing Young Adult Fiction was published by Hodder in 2015. She tweets @mushenska.
