About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Do you have some basic fixing skills or an interest in repair that you’d like to develop? Join this workshop on how to fix electricals, where we will be learning how to repair the most common items brought into community repair events, together. It is not a repair cafe where you can bring your items for repair. You must book a ticket to attend as there is limited space.

Repair Cafes are pop-up events that prevent e-waste by helping people fix their own electronics. We rely on volunteers to help make this magic happen.
The Restart Project and East London Waste Authority are running a series of workshops for electronic repairers of all skill levels. This How to: Fix Electricals workshop is designed for those who would like to start volunteering their skills at repair events but don't know where to start.

You will be working in groups to troubleshoot and repair common electrical and electronic items brought to repair events, with the support of Restarters who will be on hand to help you when you get stuck.

These sessions are completely free, all we ask is that you attend a Repair Cafe event as a volunteer to help hone your skills and build confidence and experience in fixing items, under the guidance of our expert repairers.
Under 18's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

If this event sells out, we will be prioritising giving tickets to people who live within the borough. If you live outside the borough, we may get in touch with you to cancel your ticket.

Any questions please email london@therestartproject.org

Note: By booking a ticket, you consent to your answers being shared with East London Waste Authority (ELWA) for reporting purposes. Please note, only your responses to specific questions will be shared with ELWA, none of your personal information will be shared(e.g. name, email address etc.), ELWA will receive the responses as anonymous.
