Introduction to folding
This is a short introduction to the basic folds and base models that aim to provide and aid the participant with some of the basic origami techniques that they can master in their own time, an intro to the art of folding. The goodie bag will contain instructions on many different base models for you to take home and master in your own time.
The workshop contains follow- along guided demonstrations which will cover a large section of the workshop and consists of creating various origami models like the infamous origami crane, masu box, koi and other models at beginner level. An instructional booklet will be provided as part of the goodie bag so that you can recreate the models on your own and at your own pace.
A couple of fun and simple exercises are presented throughout the workshop, encouraging the use of the folding methods and techniques gained. The first is a fun, interactive exercise that forms part of an introduction to one another. And the second is another simple, quick and creative exercise using the folding techniques and skills acquired, enabling the participant with the approach required to fold objects on their own and to develop their skills further.
The folding workshop lasts approximately 2 hours and, thereafter, you will be given the chance to enjoy your afternoon tea in the Sheridan Guest House dining room.
