Event description

Description

Learn how to forage safely and responsibly and receive tips on using the produce in your cooking with food writer Rosie Birkett and expert forager Jonathan Cook.

Wild food is nutritious, delicious and completely free. But how do you identify the edible plants and make the most out of them in your cooking?

Hosted by food writer and author Rosie Birkett, this tour will start at craft beer bar & Italian eatery Mason & Company with a beverage and an introduction to foraging. Expert forager Jonathan Cook will then take you for a wild food foraging walk across Walthamstow marshes.

Jonathan will show you some of the delicious and unexpected foods that are growing all around, including meadowsweet flowers and punchy wild rocket.

Rosie will then share her expert tips on cooking, and the tour will conclude with a Q&A and a drink at Mason & Company.
