Are you interested in getting a job in the tech industry? Whether you are in tech, engineering, computer, design or business, there are many exciting opportunities to work in the UK’s world-renowned technology sector.

Personal branding expert Kaitlin Zhang will share her top tips for getting a job in the tech industry, alongside her own experiences of working in London’s technology sector since 2013. She will be joined by two other experts from London's tech industry. You’ll also get a list of organisations and useful websites to find out more information about career opportunities and will learn how to promote yourself online.

About our speakers:

Kaitlin Zhang

Kaitlin Zhang is the CEO of Kaitlin Zhang Branding, a cross-border digital marketing agency specialising in technology and financial services. Kaitlin is also an award-winning personal branding consultant, helping entrepreneurs, executives and celebrities manage their online reputation. Kaitlin founded Kaitlin Zhang Branding in 2016 serving corporate and personal clients in the USA, UK, Canada and China. She blogs about personal branding, corporate branding, digital marketing and reputation management on her website www.kaitlinzhang.com.

Karl Rego, CEO & Founder, London Executive Advisors (LXA)

Karl Rego is a board advisor, entrepreneur and investor with 20 years' experience helping businesses grow. He has worked with tech startups, scaleups and blue-chip corporates in sectors such as fintech, digital health and artificial intelligence, amongst others. He is a keynote speaker on leadership, technology and funding, whose talks have been featured on the radio and in prominent print and online media. He now helps companies scale via strategic advice and industry connections.

Alessia Sannazzaro, Co-founder of Code and Wander

Alessia is the co-founder of Code & Wander, a digital product studio based in London that specialises in design, user experience and web development. After graduating in Design and Innovation, Alessia entered the startup scene by co-founding Choosic, an award-winning music discovery app and gained recognition for her success in the NACUE Varsity Pitch, Get In The Ring and the London Entrepreneurs Challenge as well as getting involved in talks such as the Google DevFest. Since then she’s worked in digital agencies collaborating with top brands and helping startups to launch digital products and experiences to large audiences.


This event is part of a series of the Student Enterprise events series at London South Bank University (LSBU).

This event is free to attend and everyone is welcome.

This event counts towards a Certificate in Enterprise*.

*What is the Certificate in Enterprise?

LSBU students and alumni can obtain a Certificate in Enterprise by taking part in six Student Enterprise activities throughout the academic year. Please ensure that you sign in on the registration sheet when you arrive and at the end of the session, get a stamp on your Loyalty Card to help you to keep track of the events you’ve attended.

How do I get a loyalty card?

You can collect one of these at the registration desk at each event.

What support is available to students who wish to start a business at LSBU?

We offer exciting workshops, start-up programmes led by inspirational speakers and competitions to help you to get your business off to the best possible start, and keep it going.

I am not a Student or Alumni of LSBU. Can I still attend the event?

Yes, our events are open to members of the public. All we ask is that you come with the willingness to learn something new. Please register under the 'Other' category.

What are my transport options getting to the event?

By train and tube – Southwark and Elephant & Castle stations are a 5 minute walk from LSBU’s campus. We do not offer parking. See a map of LSBU’s campus.

What happens if I arrive after the event start time?

Our events are popular and space is often limited. If you arrive after the event start time we’ll try our best to accommodate you. We do reserve the right to turn you away if you're more than 15 minutes late and the space is full, for health and safety reasons.

Do I have to bring a printed ticket to the event?

No – please turn up at the room and address specified on the events page and give your name to the staff member at the registration desk.

How will my data be used?

By signing up to the event, you are providing us with your personal data. Your data will be used to support the management and administration of the event and for sharing any post-event materials and feedback. We have a statutory obligation to report the number of events attendees to HESA on an annual basis through the HECBI Survey and to prepare internal reports on engagement in enterprise activities. Your Personal Data may be used as part of this report.

We may contact you about other events, workshops, programmes and competitions organised by the Student Enterprise team at LSBU and collecting your Certificate in Enterprise (if eligible).
