About this Event

Publishing Talk members get 25% off all ticket types.

How do you get an agent? How do you build your online platform? How do you make the leap from 'writer' to 'published author'?

How to Get Published is going online! Join bestselling authors, literary agents, publishers and self-publishing experts as they explain the publishing landscape, outline the various routes to publication, demystify the process and equip you for career success.

Expect no-nonsense, practical advice to motivate you to write that book - and get it published!

We're running over TWO days, with three 90-minute sessions per day - to minimize Zoom exhaustion and maximize your opportunity to join us from wherever you are in the world.

DAY ONE: Traditional Publishing (Sat 18 Sep)

DAY TWO: Self-Publishing and Other Routes (Sun 19 Sep)

Join us for one or both days, and learn how to get that book published!

Includes PDF handouts and downloads. You will also have the opportunity to pitch your book and get some instant feedback from our agent panel (optional, if you're shy - and this session won't be recorded).

Join us for a packed weekend of motivating speakers, illuminating discussions and essential information.

The full programme and list of speakers is evolving and will be added here soon. Meanwhile, you can get an idea of what we're likely to cover from our How to Get Published event in London in 2019.

DAY ONE: Traditional Publishing (Sat 18 Sep)

These sessions will show you how to get traditionally published - whether you're writing fiction or non-fiction. How do you get an agent? What are agents and publishers looking for? How do you work with an editor? These questions and more will be answered. There will also be the opportunity to get some feedback on your pitch.

DAY ONE BONUS SESSION: Book for DAY ONE or BOTH DAYS and get free access to our masterclass with Scott Pack: 'How to Perfect Your Submission'. Attend this live on 15 Sep, or watch the replay.

DAY TWO: Self-Publishing and Other Routes (Sun 19 Sep)

These sessions will show you alternative routes to publication - including self-publishing, crowdfunding and hybrid models. What are the pros and cons of each? What self-publishing platforms are available? How can you become a kindle bestseller? How should you approach your marketing? These questions and more will be answered by our speakers and expert panel.

DAY TWO BONUS SESSION: Book for DAY TWO or BOTH DAYS and get free access to our masterclass with Nicola May: 'How to Become a Kindle Bestseller.' Attend this live on 28 Jul, or watch the replay.

Video Replays

All sessions take place on Zoom and will be recorded except the live pitch feedback session (so you can speak freely without feeling too intimidated!) They will be available for later viewing by ticket holders - so don't worry if you miss a session, or want to go over it again.
