About this Event

'How to Grow Your Business with a Podcast': interactive one-day workshop

So what's this podcast thing all about?

Podcasts in the UK are booming...in the last 5 years the number of adults listening to a podcast each week has doubled with over 6 million people now tuning in.

First, what is a podcast? Put simply, it’s radio for the digital age - you could say it’s the audio equivalent of YouTube meaning everyone has the opportunity to create a podcast and have a voice.

Worldwide there are over 750,000 shows produced by independent creators and established media outlets covering everything from comedy to self-help.

But why does this matter for your business and should your brand have a podcast?

Right now, brands are struggling to cut through the noise and develop authentic connections with their audience.

They feel overwhelmed with creating a constant stream of engaging content to post on social media with little or no impact.

What if there was a way your business could engage with your ideal customers in a meaningful way, reach a wider audience and position yourself as the expert in your field?

Podcasts do just that by communicating your message through authentic stories directly into the ears of your ideal audience.

Well-known brands like Jaguar, McDonalds, Microsoft and Ebay already have successful shows humanising their brand, expanding their reach and ultimately improving their bottom line - but it’s not just for big business.

Every type of business who has a story to tell - from freelancers to sole-traders, small businesses to scale-ups, can benefit from having a podcast.

So how do you get started?

Learning how to start a podcast may seem daunting, especially when you already have a never ending to-do list!

This is why two of Bristol's foremost broadcasting and podcasting experts - Dan Gregory and Roz Hutchings, have created this special one day podcasting workshop.

They will share their combined experience of 15 years in producing engaging audio content and stand out podcasts to show you how to launch a successful show.

During this interactive one-day workshop you will learn how to plan, launch and grow your podcast including:

  • What equipment and tools you should use to capture the best audio.
  • How to record a professional sounding show that stands out.
  • Where to publish your podcast to maximise your reach.
  • How to build an engaged audience of loyal fans.
  • How to grow your business with your podcast.

Who is this course for?

If you or your brand has compelling stories to tell, a podcast is the most powerful way you can share them with your audience. Whether you're a business owner, entrepreneur, marketeer or thought leader this is for you. This workshop is ideal for brands who already engage with their audience online through social media or other forms of content and are looking to deepen those relationships.

Your hosts:

Dan J. Gregory

Dan is a successful entrepreneur and host of ‘The Unstoppable Podcast’, a business show with over 100,000 listeners in 90+ countries. He is the incoming Chair of the UK Podcast Association and founder of Fable, the podcast platform of the future.

Roz Hutchings

Roz is one of Bristol’s most experienced radio broadcasters. With over 10 years experience as a radio news editor and presenter she has broadcast news bulletins, interviewed guests and presented shows on major radio stations including the BBC, GWR FM (now Heart), Jack FM and The Breeze.
