How to have an impact as a trustee (for trustees)
Overview
5:30pm - 7pm
21st January 2026
Naylor Leyland Centre, Ruthin
We become trustees to make a difference, so how can we ensure that we are having the maximum impact?
Being a trustee is about more than just attending meetings—it’s about making a real difference to your organisation.
But what does impact as a trustee actually look like, and how can individuals ensure they’re contributing effectively to their board?
This workshop explores what it means to have impact as a trustee. We’ll cover the knowledge, behaviours and skills trustees need to be effective, as well as common pitfalls and unhelpful behaviours that can undermine a board.
Participants will gain tools and strategies to maximise their contributions, work effectively with others and bring real value to their organisation.
The workshop is designed for both new and experienced trustees who want to reflect on and strengthen their role. Other kinds of board and committee members from third sector organisations are also welcome.
It will be delivered by Penny Wilson, an expert in governance and trustee development.
