Event description

Description

"The evidence is consistent, positive and convincing: families have a major influence on children's achievement." Harvard Graduate School of Education (2015).

This talk draws together the best available research evidence on the role that parents and families can have on children’s academic attainment and ability to thrive at primary school.

Those who attend will:

  • Understand clearly that what parents do at home can markedly boost their child's academic progress.

  • Learn how to develop a positive 'family mindset' towards children’s well-being and learning.

  • Be made aware of some of the red flags or key issues that can negatively affect a child's ability to thrive at school.

Who is the talk for?

Any parent of a child under 13 who wishes to understand what they can be doing to fully support their child's academic progress and emotional well-being at school.

Is the talk free to attend?

Parents will be asked to make a financial contribution, paid to HHS PA by separate notice.

Please note: this talk is only open to parents with children currently enrolled at the school.
