Event description

Description

What are the best ways to avoid problems whilst your software application is being built?

This workshop will take in an depth look at the answers to this question!

Sadly, it is extremely common for the founders of tech startups to experience significant delays, losses, stress and frustration as they collaborate with "techies" to get their software built. Tech and "business" folk often speak different languages, and see the same situations from very different perspectives!

This workshop is designed to address a range of management challenges as you become the CEO of your tech driven business and need to think about hiring and managing staff, monitoring performance, and maintaining high productivity - both other people's productivity - and your own!

We'll look at ways to both avoid, and navigate around common management issues that arise when working with tech staff, so you can run your business efficiently and harmoniously!

Together we'll review strategies and discuss a range of useful management tools, and techniques which will draw on both practical experiences, case studies and relevant management theory.

We'll also discuss:

  • Hiring CTOs and developers and where (and why) this often goes horribly wrong!
  • Finding cofounders
  • Using agencies
  • What to look out for when hiring developers
  • How to get the best from your tech staff
  • The good, bad and ugly of what to expect during the hiring and management processes
  • How to prepare yourself for a range of common challenges and work scenarios

The workshop will be led by K.N. Kukoyi, a software delivery specialist that has spent over a decade working with developers and ensuring that clients receive software products of the highest standard.

Kay has also helped companies to recruit tech staff as an IT recruiter, and has reviewed the CVs of several thousand developers in the course of her career.

Kay will be sharing tips and stories, answering your questions, and providing insights that will save you a HUGE amount of time and energy as you build your tech business.

Learn how to hire and manage your developers the smart way!

Book your place on this workshop, and learn how to find great people to help you create a successful, high quality product... and how to avoid unnecessary stress and drama along the way.
