Event description

Description

Life is busy and we have more stress in our lives than ever before. We have countless ‘things do to’, more responsibility, more expectation, more choice. It’s exhausting just thinking about it.

So, it’s really no surprise the Danish concept of ‘Hygge’ has become so popular in the UK. Hygge more or less translates to ‘being cosy’ but it’s much more than that. It’s not just lighting a candle, it’s about a state of wellbeing – about ‘being’ instead of ‘doing’. The idea of coming together, conviviality and kinship, to enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

Remember when you were a kid, it was Christmas, it was cold outside, you came in after playing with your friends, your Mum had a hot cup of cocoa for you and you were eagerly anticipating opening all of the presents under the tree? That warm fuzzy feeling you get? That’s hygge.

If you fancy a night of indulging in ‘the simple things’ of life, come and enjoy a candle lit night at Two Ducks with Danish Gluwhein (warm lightly spiced wine, ‘hygge’ in a cup), a homemade Danish pastry/bun and listen to the perfect talk from Danish parent & life coach Mette Theilmann on ‘How to Hygge’.

And if you’re feeling completely ‘zen’ after that, you can enjoy a spot of retail therapy, and scoop up all things to help you ‘hygge’ at home!

This event is £6 per ticket and when you attend you get a gorgeous Parkminster candle worth £6 in exchange for your ticket.
