How to Identify and Win Funding for Your Business
Wed 5 April 2017, 09:00 – 12:00 BST
This workshop is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and is hosted by the D2N2 Growth Hub in partnership with Oxford Innovation.
Do you feel that it’s always someone else that secures grant funding? Do you know where to find grants? And are you deterred by the application process?
This event will help you identify the correct funding for your business and help you to submit a competitive proposal. Key issues we will cover include:
• Who are “the funders” and what are they looking for?
• Capital and Revenue funding
• State Aid – what does it mean?
• Application process – top tips (and common mistakes)
• Financial projections – what are the funders looking for?
• Examples of some of the funds available today.
Who Should Attend?
This workshop is for SMEs, sole traders and business owners in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire who are interested in learning more about how to put together a successful application to grow your business through grant funding.
The event will take place at Newark Beacon, Beacon Hill Office Park, Cafferata Way, Newark, Nottinghamshire NG24 2TN
Registration is from 9.00am for a prompt start at 9.30am. Refreshments will be provided upon arrival.
About the Trainer - David Smith
The workshop will be delivered by David Smith, Business Growth Director at Oxford Innovation who manage the three Nottinghamshire Innovation Centres (Mansfield iCentre, Newark Beacon and Worksop Turbine) on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council. David has a wealth of experience, having managed grant programmes and supported businesses across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire to successfully secure funding over a number of years.
This workshop is funded via the European Regional Development Fund, therefore we are required to evidence that you are a small to medium enterprise.
There will be a couple of forms that will need to be completed either prior to the event or on the day and these will be sent to you once you have registered. One form is to ensure you are a small to medium enterprise, the second is to capture any business support you have received over the last 3 years to ensure you haven’t exceeded €200,000. If you have previously completed these forms at a Growth Hub event you will not have to complete another set.
