Get ready to grow your business abroad with our help.

Scottish Development International is hosting an introductory export workshop in Glenrothes on the 3rd December 2019.

If you’re an ambitious company ready to take on the challenge of developing your business internationally and your export capability, then this event is for you. It’s the perfect primer for any company new to exporting and thinking about international growth.

Learn how to reach international markets with confidence, even with Brexit uncertainty, and get practical know-how on:

  • International finance
  • Contracts and logistics

You'll find out how to:

  • Effectively research and exploit international opportunities
  • What market entry options are right for your business
  • How to effectively navigate export documentation, from developing your international pricing strategy to what currency to be paid in
  • How to develop your value proposition for your international customer

You will also benefit from having the resources to develop your own international action plan to implement into your business and have the opportunity to network with other like-minded businesses.

Where and When?
This introductory export one-day workshop will be held at Scottish Enterprise's office in Glenrothes. You’ll need to attend the full day to complete the programme.

The workshops is on Tuesday 3rd December 2019, from 9.3 0am to 4.00 pm.

This workshop is part of Scottish Enterprise's Preparing to Export Programme is fully funded to Scottish companies and is part funded through the European Structural and Investment Funds (Investing in a Smart, Sustainable and Inclusive Future). You should note that this support is a form of state aid, and on attendance it will count towards your overall De Minimis allowance.

What’s covered?

Market analysis - why export? The importance of export planning, selecting target markets, market research, basic legal issues, protecting your intellectual property.

Market entry - routes to market and different options available, agency, distribution, licencing and partnership agreements, international marketing and sales, websites, e-commerce and social media, visiting the market, exhibitions and trade shows

Finance, contracts and logistics - learn and understand the basics that need to be considered, in order to have financial success and how to protect yourself with a contract when delivering into foreign markets.
