This event provides an opportunity to identify bad listening and learn what good listening entails.
About this event
Session 1
Over one morning, via Zoom, participants will learn an effective and safe method of listening that will enhance their ability to bring healing and wholeness into the lives of those around them.
During the training you will have an opportunity to break into groups of two and actively listen to someone, using the Acorn listening model, for up to five minutes.
Through attending this event you will:
• understand the value and impact of good listening
• identify what stops you from listening well
• grow your capacity to listen to feelings
• consider non-verbal communication and the impact of technology
• recognise the difference between sympathy and empathy
• practise active reflective listening skills.
As part of the training each participant is provided with a PDF handout and there will be opportunities to practise listening skills during the course.
Please note that this training will be conducted using the Zoom platform.
Prior to taking part please download the free version of Zoom onto your chosen device make sure that your speakers and microphone are working well.
After you have booked your place you will receive an email a couple of days prior to the start of the course inviting you to take part via zoom.
