Emma Deering and Sioned Williams– Lanyon Bowdler - Discussing the importance of having a Will, explaining how different types of Wills can benefit your estate, discussing Inheritance Tax and what to look out for and the importance of having Lasting Powers of Attorney.
Emma is an associate in the Private Client Team based in our Conwy office. Emma qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (FCILEX) in 2015, prior to which she had completed five years' recognised training. Emma handles a varied caseload and her work broadly includes inheritance tax and succession planning advice, the preparation of wills from straightforward to more complex including trusts, creation and registration of lasting powers of attorney and estate administration to include complex high net worth estates, often taxable or including agricultural and/or business assets and/or trusts. Emma is an affiliate member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Sioned is a solicitor in the Private Client Team based in our Conwy office. She qualified as a Solicitor in December 2021 having completed training in the agricultural, conveyancing, Court of Protection and private client departments, qualifying into the private client team. Sioned deals with the preparation of Wills, Inheritance Tax advice, estate planning, estate administration, preparation and registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney and care home fee planning. Sioned is fluent in both English and Welsh and is happy to assist clients in both languages.
Jennifer Edwards - Lanyon Bowdler - Partnership Agreements and Shareholders Agreements
Jennifer is an associate solicitor in the Corporate Team. Jennifer specialises in corporate and commercial law. She spent several years working for a business on the Wirral providing advice and negotiating IT contracts for several international businesses. She has worked in North Wales since 2018 specialising in all areas of commercial and corporate work including asset sales, share sales, shareholder agreements, providing data protection advice and drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
Toby Carpenter – Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management - Financial planning at the various stages of the business cycle
Toby graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 1999 with an Honours degree in Financial Services. He started his career as an independent financial adviser, before joining Coutts & Co as a Private Banker where he advised high net worth individuals, Toby ran the Birmingham office of Charles Stanley Stockbrokers where he managed private client portfolios and a team of investment managers. Toby joined Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management as part of the acquisition of Punter Southall Wealth and provides financial advice to high-net-worth individuals and families. He is a chartered member of the CISI, holds a Master's in Wealth Management and is a CFA charterholder. He has over 25 years’ industry experience.
