How to nail your orthopaedics consultations to the bone... all within ten minutes

Come and join the Lantum GP community for our next primary care-led CPD event in Manchester. The event will cover everything you need to know to manage your orthopaedics consultations in ten minutes.

The event is certificated and carries 3 CPD points. Delivered in partnership with Ramsay Health.

Program

6:30pm: Registration, food and drink

7pm: Professor Sanjiv Jari, Consultant Lower Limb, Knee & Orthopaedic Sport Medicine Surgeon

7:45pm: Q&A

8pm: Refreshments and comfort break

8:15pm: Mr Muthu Jeyam, Consultant Orthopaedic Shoulder Surgeon who specialises in shoulder surgery, shoulder injury and arthroplasty

9pm: Q&A

9:15pm: Finish

Professor Sanjiv Jari's clinical interests include keyhole surgery of the knee and ankle, ligament reconstructive knee surgery, cartilage transplantation in sports injuries and early arthritis andknee-cap surgery. In addition to sports surgery, he has a large practice in arthritis surgery and specialises in minimally invasive total and half knee replacements. Professor Jari's NHS practice involves lower limb and trauma surgery. He has set-up a dedicated knee rehabilitation and triage service in conjunction with specialist therapists, which include bio mechanical ligament assessment using aKT-1000, a tool not generally available in the UK.

Mr Muthu Jeyam is a Consultant Shoulder & Upper Limb Surgeon and the Clinical Lead for Elective Orthopaedic Services at Salford Royal Hospital. He leads the Shoulder Unit at Salford Royal Teaching Hospital, where his NHS practice is based.

Mr Jeyam is a Senior Lecturer at Salford University and is the Secretary of the North West Orthopaedic Association. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1995 and following this he did full time research at the University of Manchester & obtained a research degree of M-Phil. Mr Jeyam then completed his higher surgical training in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery from Manchester for which he was awarded the Fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma & Orthopaedics in 2004. He has been a dedicated fellow in learning the art of Shoulder & Elbow Surgery from the prestigious Nottingham Shoulder & Elbow Unit. He also gained valuable experience from a further Fellowship at The Harvard Shoulder Service and The Boston Sports Injury Service, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
