What will be covered in the session:

This in-person workshop takes place at the BIPC in Huntingdon Library and covers business networking for those who want to improve their networking or are new to it. During this workshop you'll learn what is networking, the do's and don'ts, how to create an elevator pitch and also learn the different formats of networking across Cambridgeshire.

What's on offer and who should attend:

If you are over the age of 19 years old, Cambridgeshire resident (or you work extensively in the county), and you're new to business networking or you want to improve your networking this workshop is for you.

In order to get the maximum benefit from the workshop, it is very hands-on and you will be expected to participate, contribute, speak up and join in.

What will I learn:

We will walk through the fundamentals of business networking, the different formats, how to present you and your business positively, and what to do after you've been to a networking event.

This is your opportunity to improve your communication skills, network with others, and learn about business networking.

This workshop is provided at no cost to you, the attendees. To ensure we can continue providing these workshops, attendees are required to complete forms that provide evidence of attendance and learning. These forms, 'Individual Learning Plan (ILP)', will be issued before the workshop and there is time in the schedule to complete them. By attending this workshop you agree to support us in this process and completing the ILP.

Your Speaker -

James O'Rawe

At present, James is the BIPC Manager, working with his colleagues to support entrepreneurship across the county. He has extensive experience with business networking. He ran a regular monthly business networking event for six years, launched a business networking event, has been a guest speaker at events, and as you'd expect, has attended networking events of pretty much every format.

BIPC Cambridgeshire is part of the Cambs Skills team - a Cambridgeshire County Council service. We offers extensive support for startups, entrepreneurs and small businesses across the county. From workshops to one-2-ones, webinars to online resources, the BIPC Cambridgeshire service has a track record of supporting and stimulating entrepreneurship.
