There is plenty of wisdom around about how to structure HR to provide services in a global organisation - but for various reasons it is often not that simple! This event focuses on the HR related barriers and pitfalls in a globally connected world, viewed from both academic and practitioner perspectives. This is the third in a series of "From Research to Practice" HR seminars jointly organised by Kingston Business School and the CIPD. The key feature of these seminars is that they bring together academic experts from Kingston University and leading practitioners.
Andy Crossey, Senior Vice President and Group Head of Learning and Development, Capgemini Group
Andy provides a combination of deep and wide ranging HR knowledge gained over a 35 year career with extensive practical business experience. During 20 years in the financial services industry he alternated between commercial roles and HR roles including Graduate Recruitment and Development, Training, and Talent Management. At the NatWest group, Andy was responsible for Talent Management in Corporate and Institutional Banking as part of the group Career Development Unit which managed training and the development of leadership skills. He also worked at the Management Training Centre at Heythrop Park. Andy moved into HR Consultancy in 1998 with Ernst & Young and then Capgemini Consulting where he worked with the HR departments of a wide range of organisations in both public and private sectors, and was leader of the HR Consulting team. For the last 5 years he has held line HR Director roles at Capgemini, first in the role of Group Talent Management Director, and now focussing on the delivery of Learning and Development for the 180,000 Capgemini employees across the global group that spans over 42 countries. Andy works with business schools globally, and has taught the global HR modules of MBA programmes in Singapore and Dubai. He currently teaches on the Kingston Business School Masters in International HRM programme in Moscow and is a Visiting Fellow at Cranfield School of Management. Andy’s work in training and development was recognised by the award of a Fellowship for Services to Education. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Dr Kenisha Linton, Senior Lecturer, Kingston University
Dr Kenisha Linton is a Senior Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management at Kingston Business School. She leads the School's BSc in HRM programme accredited by the CIPD, and also teaches on the School's Masters in International HRM programme in Moscow. Kenisha obtained her PhD at Royal Holloway, University of London. Her doctoral thesis examined the topic of workforce diversity and inclusion in the Metropolitan Police Service. Kenisha also conducts research on the transcultural competence of British expatriates and migrant workers in Caribbean nations, and is engaged in various collaborative research projects in the areas of cross-cultural management, strategic human resource development, and diversity.
