About this event

  • 1 day 6 hours

Master painter Phil Speight returns to Bollington for his most popular course: How to Paint Your Boat. Please note that this is NOT a hands-on course, but a detailed grounding in every aspect of preparation, application and finishing that you need to get and maintain a mirror finish on your boat, as well as preparing for signwriting and marking up different areas of the livery. From a discussion of the materials you need, to the tricks of the trade that deliver a perfect and durable surface Phil brings his forty-year expertise to every aspect of the job. We will provide course notes but do bring a notebook!

Feedback for Phil's courses is brilliant. One person wrote: "Phil was a lovely relaxed teacher who teaches in what I can only describe in a anti perfectionist, true and fun way.... Would recommend to anyone interested in learning!"

Lunch is provided (so let us know if you are veggie or have other dietary requirements). Accommodation is not included. Places are limited so book soon - for yourself or as a gift for the canal person in your life. Booking is only via this website.

Phil was recently the subject of a feature in The Guardian with photos, including the cover photo above, by Christopher Thomond - click here to see Phil at work.
